Venus on Sun

It was a beautiful sunny day today, and there was transition of Venus over Sun.

We reached at the Lied center parking and there were several astronomers

There were people in groups ...

setting up telescopes

and trying different methods to see the sun

some with lot of equipment

the Sun was bright and shining

but with filters we could see it better

though brighter it was beautiful

and Venus was clearly visible.

we were enjoying it for long time

again and again the beautiful view of Sun with Venus.

some people really had high tech equipment

but after some time, it started getting cloudy

and soon Sun set behind the treeline.

Solar Eclipse May 2012

 On 20th May 2012 there was a Solar Eclipse.

But the weather was cloudy in the evening.

And it started getting dark

and darker…..

People who gathered spontaneously at Lied Center were well equipped with good telescopes but getting worried.

And then there was a ray of hope.

And the Sun was out of clouds.

It gave a spectacular glimpse.

And then it touched the horizon.

And started vanishing…

 

 Before completely vanishing, there was a beautiful glow.

 

People were mesmerized and were still discussing the amazing event they witnessed.
